DEIJ in Action in the Classroom
It was not long after the Chatsworth Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) committee convened their first meeting of the school year that students implemented DEIJ focussed activities in their classrooms. At the meeting, the DEIJ committee discussed topics that included assisting staff with strategies to help students showcase their learning and enable students to make connections to their culture and ancestry.
Teachers Educating Teachers about DEIJ at Teach-Up Workshop
Chatsworth was delighted to host the DEIJ Teach-Up workshop on Saturday, March 9th where 54 participants from the various international schools attended. Teach-Up was a teachers-educating-teachers event on all things Diversity Equity Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) including embedding DEIJ in the curriculum, implicit bias, neurodiversity and more.
Demystifying DEIJ - Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice
Chatsworth International School has formalised Diversity, Inclusion and beyond in what has been encapsulated as DEIJ - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice this academic year of 2023/24.
Whilst work on forming the committee which is still evolving and developing the mission statement and its guiding principles commenced more than a year ago, the formation and its introduction to all staff members took place in August 2023.
