What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is a globally recognised educational framework. Originally developed by a nonprofit foundation in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968, it is now one of the most popular curricula with around 5,600 schools worldwide offering it.
The IB programme aims to foster intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills, nurturing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are motivated to succeed. It consists of four educational programmes:
IB Primary Years Programme for children aged 3 to 12
IB Middle Years Programme for students aged 11 to 16
IB Diploma Programme for students aged 16 to 18
