Chatsworth East is dedicated to providing the best available ICT resources to our students and staff. There are two iMacs in K1 and in both K2 classrooms. K1 and K2 also use our school iPads on a regular basis. There are four iMacs in each Year 2 and Year 3 classroom. Year 3 classrooms are 2-1 MacBook classrooms. Year 4-6 classrooms are 1-1 MacBook classrooms. The Library hosts an iPad lab and is available to all classes as needed for projects and skill development. The 2-1 and 1-1 laptops in Years 3 to 6 remain in the classrooms in purpose-built carts and are utilized in a wide variety of integration opportunities. In addition to iMacs, MacBooks and iPads, Chatsworth East utilizes iPod Touches, Promethean Interactive Whiteboards, document cameras, digital video and digital still cameras, and a number of software applications to provide all of our students with the best possible learning opportunities to be competitive and knowledgeable with 21st Century learning skills.
Infrastructure and Communications
Year 3-6 students have unique network identities and passwords. They access their own folders on our Xserve, which typically reside within their classroom folders. Students from K1 – Yr3 use managed login network ids and passwords. Teachers are issued MacBook laptops and, like our students, access our secure, firewall-protected network via these machines. East Campus is a wireless environment. We continue to re-visit our IT infrastructure on a yearly basis.
Acceptable Use Policy
All students and staff are expected to follow our Acceptable Use Policy. This policy sets the guidelines for the use of ICT equipment and Internet usage at our school and is a policy we all agree to in order to establish a mature community of ICT users.
