Welcome to the Junior Years at Chatsworth East.
The Junior Years section of Chatsworth East continues to grow and we have students from many different nationalities represented on our campus. With an emphasis on the pastoral care of students and a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment, Chatsworth East addresses the need for a holistic approach to education, putting the well-being of our students at the center of all policies and planning.
Students receive stand-alone subject lessons in Physical Education (PE), Music, Library and Mandarin, while ICT and Art are integrated into the curriculum. An extensive and supportive English as a Second Language (ESL) Programme will cater to the needs of those students who are not yet fluent in English. If students are enrolled in the ESL Programme then they will not receive Mandarin instruction.
As an IB World School authorized to teach the Primary Years Programme (PYP), our curriculum is inquiry-based and both students and staff model the Learner Profile, which stands at the core of the PYP Programme. For more information about the PYP, please visit the IBO website, or contact our PYP Coordinator, Mr. Tim Burch at: firstname.lastname@example.org
At Chatsworth East we have an open door policy and encourage parents and guardians to get involved in their child’s education. There are many ways in which parents can assist with what is happening on campus, from reading programmes, sharing skills for specific units of inquiry or helping out on field trips, we can always use extra assistance! Please do contact your child’s classroom teacher if you are able to help in any way.
